Sentry Control Systems - Pentagon Row
I recently completed the first phase of an initiative to publicize Sentry Control Systems’ installation of a suite of single space sensors at the Pentagon Row mixed-use development just outside of Washington, D.C. The sensor package directs parkers to available spaces, making it much more convenient for parkers to get into and out of parking areas. It also promotes sustainability by eliminating the need for parkers to circle parking areas looking for open spaces. The project also included the introduction of Pentagon Row’s mobile parking app, which provides up-to-the-minute parking rate information, shows the location of available free parking, and helps drivers locate their vehicles when they are ready to leave the facility.
This first phase of the PR initiative revolved around the distribution of a press release announcing the installation. The press release was distributed worldwide to business, retail, real estate, and parking press, and was immediately picked up by more than 300 media outlets. The announcement garnered over 250 million media impressions, and the story was covered by numerous high profile outlets, including Yahoo Finance, MSN Money, Marketwatch, and Bloomberg. As a result of the announcement, Sentry received many calls from building owners and operators interested in installing similar sensor packages in their properties.
In the coming months, we will work with Sentry and Federal Realty Investment Trust, the development’s owner, to arrange new feature and byline stories in retail and real estate publications.
